CHEEROTH POORAM
The family poroam is being celebrated every year on Makharam10th. Initially with 3elephants and Cheeroth Rajeev adorning the main deity on his forehead. People from different places gathered to participate in good numbers. Those days were the days of poverty among very majority of people. The family used to give all the participants irrespective of caste and creed a feast. Just to get this feast on the pooram day, people thronged the temple. This practice of giving feast to the people is being followed even now.
When the family expanded further it is decided to have separate families to each brothers. Four houses were built in the same compound, the temple being in the middle and houses on both sides so that pooram can be conduct in the central compound. One brother, the youngest, departed from this earth and the remaining three brothers are still in the helm of affairs. The present generation takes much interest in sustaining the traditional values of the temple and the festival is being celebrated with pomp and pleasure.
