Its ancestral origin is based at Mullassery. The present generation knows the history of Cheeroth family from the days of “velu”, the grand old parent of present generation. When the family expanded leaps and bounds Paran & his brothers, the sons of Velu decided to part with the base at Mullassery and decided to settle at a convenient, calm and quiet place. They found their choice at Puthur, a small place coming under Kaiparambu village in Thrissur District.

Paran & his two brothers started living in a small house following the joint family system. They were not educated. However ,having abundance of mutual cooperation, love & affection between themselves the family flourished day by day. It is believed that “Changaram Kumarath Achan”,the god of Cheeroth family based at Mullassery was not happy in His abode at Mullassery and decided to quit the base & settled at Puthur Bringing prosperity to Paran and family.

The present history of Cheeroth family starts with the days of Paran. The invisible presence of “Changaram Kumarath Achan or Cheeroth Achan” and his guidance was the basis of the prosperity of this family. Identifying this fact Paran and his family decided to give Cheeroth Achan a fitting tribute to HIM, by constructing a small sanctum and Sanatorum and installing his idol. From the day of consecration there was uninterrupted daily pooja.
